Q1: When is the festival happening?

Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th of September, 2021

9:00am - 5:00pm both days.

Q3: I'm a local author, how can I be involved?

You can email us to become a speaker if you think you have a talk that can help the writing community. If you want to talk about the Story Behind the Story, or the Business/Craft of Writing, we have a place for you!

Otherwise, you are welcome to purchase a stall to sell your books at and network with other authors and the community.

If you don't want to be a speaker or have a stall, you are welcome to purchase a day ticket and come along for the day.

Q4: I'm not a local author but I'd like to be involved. Can I still be a speaker or have a stall?

You certainly can! We always do our best to prioritise the growth of our community as writers and readers in Logan, and if you have lessons to share, that's still important to us.

Q5: Who do I contact to be involved?

Just email [email protected] and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Q6: What kinds of writers can get involved?

We want to celebrate all types of writers. Fiction authors, kids, young adult, adult, non fiction, poetry, screen writing, memoir, and all genres. This is a broad festival that helps the community learn more about writing and all the different forms that comes in.

Q7: If I'm doing a presentation, will I get paid for this or will it just be for exposure?

At this stage, because it's the first Writers Festival the Chamber of Commerce is organising, we are trying to work into our budget the approved payment for our speakers, but we are waiting on funding approvals before we can give a definite answer to this. In the meantime, we are going to advertise your talk far and wide and try to give you as much exposure as possible.
